This coming Sunday, September 30, we will celebrate Rally Day at Berean Memorial Church as we have since the early 1950s. Rally Day is a time of gathering together for worship (thanksgiving and praise) and a time to prepare for spiritual warfare. It is a time to look back at our heritage, evaluate the present and prepare with a renewed commitment. We invite you and your guests to our Rally Day services. We will begin with our morning service at 10:45 am. At 4:00 p.m., in the afternoon, we will gather again for a time of prayer, hymns and testimonies followed by a pot-luck supper at 5:00 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. we will welcome a special speaker. I am confident that you will find this speaker not only entertaining but having something to say which is edifying spiritually, and a great way to end our Rally Day.

“Christian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has spoken out in a letter of thanks to his supporters around the world after his release from the Iranian prison where he was held for three years for refusing to renounce his faith.
The carefully worded, approximately 600-word letter does not express any bitterness toward the regime that kept him in prison on charges that were not always clear. Nadarkhani, a married father, was freed one month shy of three years and cannot leave the country for at least another month under the terms of his release. The letter cites the groundswell of support from around the world, including diplomatic efforts by several countries and a Twitter campaign that involved more than a million people.”

BCA will be hosting Parent-Student Night on Friday, Sept. 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the BCA Library. The purpose is to take parents into the actual classroom in which the children are taught. Students will demonstrate some of their daily educational activities. Parents, friends and family are invited to attend. What a great way to introduce and support Berean Christian Academy.
“Pastor Youcef’s recent release, after spending almost three years in prison under the threat of execution, is a testament to the power of prayer and how individuals can make a difference when they join together. With eyes all around the world fixed on Iran, now is the time to raise our voices, both in celebration for Pastor Youcef’s release and for the many other Christians persecuted in Iran for their faith.
While there are numerous Christians who face persecution, today we choose to focus on two of those stories.”
There will be a church council meeting tomorrow evening (Sept. 18) at 7:30 PM in the Academy Building.
