BCA Garage Sale Cancelled For This Year

We regret to inform everyone that we do not have the time or manpower to host the annual BCA garage sale this year.  If you have been saving items for this sale, then you are free to donate them to other charitable causes that accept non-cash gifts or sell them yourself and donate the money to BCA.

Thank you.

Berean Academy Staff Christmas Gifts

Dear Academy Friends:

The happy Christmas holiday season is again upon us.  At Berean Christian Academy, thanksgiving is a way of life, not merely a holiday.  For fifty-eight years we have had cause for gratitude to God for providing us with the means to serve Christian families in the godly education of their children.

At the heart of our thanksgiving are the gifted, dedicated faculty and staff which God has formed at BCA.  It has been our custom each year to give our family the opportunity to provide a monetary Christmas gift to each of these workers.

If you would like to contribute to that Christmas expression of appreciation to these servants of God, please mark your gifts accordingly and send them to BCA Office at 1000 E. Sixth Street, Irving, TX 75060 by Wednesday, December 19th.

Academy Christmas Program

The BCA Christmas Program will be on two days this week.  The children will perform on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 10:00 AM at the Emeritus Retirement Home located at 820 N. Britain Rd.

Wednesday they will minister at the Silverado Senior Living Center, 8855 W. Valley Ranch Parkway at 1:00 PM.

You are welcome to join us at either location to hear the performance or meet us at BCA 30 minutes before the performance to ride with us or follow us.  Call the Academy office at 972 438 1440 for more information.

Dasharound Results

For everyone keeping score at home, here are the results from the 2012 Berean Academy Dasharound.

TOTAL LAPS RUN:   1,182 + laps
Most Laps:  Edwin Chacko (5th Grade) – 88 laps
Most Sponsors:  Benjamin, Bennett & Olivia – 17 sponsors

Russell the wonderdog brought in $100, but only because his master and Mrs. Gitchell carried him a few laps.  He definitely needs to work on his training regimen for next year 🙂

Reformation Day

While the rest of the world turns its attention to the celebration of Halloween, Berean Academy students always celebrate reformation day.  The parade and celebration is an annual classic at the Academy and your attendance this Wednesday will be appreciated by both students and teachers.  Thanks for your support of Berean Christian Academy.

Dasharound 2012

We want to thank everyone who volunteered for and participated in the Berean Academy Dasharound event for 2012.  This year marked the debut of the Amazing Russell as a sponsored dasher.  He was quite popular 🙂

Russell’s training regimen consisted of long naps on the couch, however, he completed his goal of 20 laps.  Well, he did require a bit of help.

Where would Berean be without Mr. and Mrs. Gitchell?  You can view a small collection of photos from this year’s event at the church Flickr site.

Yes, it’s that time of the year!  The Berean Academy dasharound event is almost upon us.  This is a great opportunity for you to support the Academy and the physical fitness of the students.  And, we have a big surprise this year.

By popular request, Russell the wonderdog is making his formal dasharound debut!  Here is a photo of Russell warming up and getting used to the field at last year’s event.

Russell’s goal this year is 20 laps, however, due to his current training regimen of sleeping on the couch all day, this is going to be a challenge 🙂 You may sponsor Russell on a per-lap basis or a fixed donation by filling out the sponsor form here. Just send it to the church office and you too can be a Russell fan.

Of course, if you would rather sponsor one of the students, that’s fine, but Russell will be sad 🙂  Thanks for your support of Berean Christian Academy!

Work Day October 6

Berean Christian Academy, Berean Church, and Berean Youth Clubs are engaging in a combined work day Saturday, October 6 from 8AM to noon.  Several easy projects have been selected for this event, including a number of indoor projects in the event of rain.  Helping hands are needed, but muscles are not required 🙂

Students are encouraged to attend.  Stockade boys and Pilgrim girls will earn extra points and pass at least one achievement for attendance.  This is a great opportunity for Christian Service.

Please contact the church office if you are able to attend so that Mr. Gitchell may plan accordingly.  Thank you.

BCA Parent-Student Night

BCA will be hosting Parent-Student Night on Friday, Sept. 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the BCA Library.  The purpose is to take parents into the actual classroom in which the children are taught.  Students will demonstrate some of their daily educational activities.  Parents, friends and family are invited to attend.  What a great way to introduce and support Berean Christian Academy.

Berean Academy 2012 Graduation and Awards Ceremony

A small set of photos of the 2012 graduation and awards ceremony is now online.  The gym lighting (especially in the evening) is not too friendly for cell phones, so we apologize for the photo quality.  We hope to have some better-quality photos available online in the future.

Thanks to everyone who supported Berean Christian Academy this year and to everyone who attended the ceremony.
