BCA will be hosting Parent-Student Night on Friday, Sept. 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the BCA Library. The purpose is to take parents into the actual classroom in which the children are taught. Students will demonstrate some of their daily educational activities. Parents, friends and family are invited to attend. What a great way to introduce and support Berean Christian Academy.
On Saturday, Sept. 15, Berean Youth Clubs will sponsor our 12th annual indoor rock climbing outing at the Dyno-Rock facility in Arlington. You may download and print the waiver form from our web site. This waiver must be notarized or accompanied by a photocopy of the parent’s driver’s license. If parents attend the event, the form may be signed at the facility.
Cost is $20 and includes transportation to and from the facility, equipment, safety instruction, and lunch. We hope to see you there!
Once again, Mr. Christopher Adams is filling in for pastor Adkins during his annual and very well-deserved vacation. This morning, Mr. Adams delivered the second segment of a multi-part series on the Sermon on the Mount.
Today is Aloha Day, last day of the 2011-2012 school year. Our students are excited, looking forward to the Hot Dog picnic! The Awards and Graduation Ceremony will be tonight in the Berean gym at 7 pm.
The school year will begin again for K4 – 6th grade on August 27, 2012. Call the office, click on the Academy website, or check out the FaceBook site for Berean Christian Academy Alumni & Friends.

“USA (FCBH/MNN) ― Eight years ago, Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) developed the Proclaimer, a solar-powered digital playback device.
The project came about because of the high illiteracy rates around the world that prevented the poor from having access to God’s Word in their own heart language.
Enter: Troy Love, a police officer from Columbus, Indiana, and a former Marine. He first heard of the Proclaimer during a presentation at his church in 2010 and decided to raise funds and awareness for FCBH listening groups by riding his bike across the country.
In September 2010, he completed a six-week journey that took him from San Francisco, California to Yorktown, Virginia. That ride generated over $67,000.
Now he’s back: this time pedaling from Key West, Florida to Bar Harbor, Maine, with a goal of $90,000. Together, these events will bring awareness of the needs as he speaks in churches and makes more appearances. The end goal between the two rides: $157,000, which would cover the cost to establish 1,000 Faith Comes By Hearing listening groups.”
Read the complete story here. This is a great segue into a reminder of our own Jim Duncan, who is once again riding in the Bike For Bibles event this August. Please visit Jim’s sponsor page and make a donation or leave a message. Thank you.
