2011 BCA Dasharound Results

Students, staff, friends, and one dog dashed around the athletic field Oct. 21, raising $4,604.63 in sponsor pledges.  1,123 total laps were walked or ran.  We are grateful for their efforts and for the sponsors’ generosity in helping to support our school.

Russ Clowdus Presentation

Russ Clowdus, missionary in Austria, spoke to us this morning on his work.  You can read the update Russ provided for our blog here.

Reformation Day Celebration

Berean Academy does not celebrate the pagan tradition of Halloween.  Instead, we celebrate Reformation Day.  This annual event has become a tradition at the corner of 6th and Nursery in Irving, TX.  We hope you can join us.

Dasharound 2011 Photos

We were blessed with perfect weather and great attendance for the 2011 Dasharound.  Mr. Gitchell and crew did a great job preparing the field.  We are also grateful for the volunteers who helped count laps and manage pit stops for the dashers.

This year’s event also included a surprise dasher, Russell.

Russell gave the Dasharound a brief try this year. Next year, he intends to collect sponsors and make his formal debut. You can check out the entire photo collection right here!

Dasharound is Tomorrow

Berean Academy holds only two fundraising events per year.  Dasharound is part of the general program of physical fitness at the Academy.  There is still time to sponsor a student.  The sponsor form is online here.

You may also make a donation directly to Berean Church in support of the Academy.  We hope to see you tomorrow morning at 10AM!

Russ Clowdus Visiting Berean On October 30

One of the missionaries supported by Berean Church, Russ Clowdus, will visit Berean on Oct. 30 and provide an update on his ministry. Following is a brief summary, provided by Russ.

“Recent PRAISE & PRAYER from missionary team efforts:

Equipping

Leadership academy – The Lord brought in young leaders that needed special training on Oct 6-8th. Praying for regular small group training sessions to be started from those training sessions. May the Lord grow young leaders in Austria and Central Europe.

Bible Training Center for Leaders has a small group of men attending regularly; one of which is a Latino Pastor. Also started a Seminar for Preachers reaching out to those from a Muslim background. Recently started a women’s Bible study entitled Titus 2. The women attending are desiring a deeper walk with God.

Mobilizing

Young Leaders: Praise God one of the young leaders is leading and managing the Teenager networking ministry in Vienna for the second year now. Also another more mature young leader is leading and managing a spiritual gifting class with the other young leaders. They have also taken on the leadership of the English Teenager Camp ministry and are trying to expand it.

A select few of the young leaders will be on a Youth ministry Internship to Denton Texas this Feb. 2012!

Countdown to Dasharound

Just over four days and counting down.  Please join us at 10AM for the start of the annual Berean Academy Dasharound.  If you can arrive earlier to help setup the field, such help will be greatly appreciated.
